HOAX AVIATION CALL FRUSTRATES EMERGENCY SERVICES PERSONNEL

A hoax caller on the aviation frequency claiming to have had undercarriage and engine problems on the Sunshine Coast has frustrated all emergency personnel engaged in search and rescue

"A man pretending to be a pilot radioed in to the Brisbane air traffic control centre ..claiming he was having problems with his plane's landing gear ..there were 'a number' of hoax calls made on Monday"

PILOT INJURED IN CESSNA 172 EMERGENCY LANDING AT PUTTY IN NSW

A 'mature-age' pilot of a 1966 Cessna 172 has survived after the single-engine aircraft he was flying had the engine fail when en-route from Mudgee to Luskintyre that forced an emergency landing into trees

The pilot "...suffered serious chest and head injuries in the landing and was stranded for some time until the Hunter’s Westpac Rescue Helicopter managed to home in on the emergency beacon and locate him"
