ENSTROM HELICOPTER CRASH LANDS ON DECEPTION BAY BEACH

The pilot of an Enstrom 280C helicopter carried out an unsuccessful emergency landing on a deception bay beach after an apparent engine failure

The rotary-wing machine was extensively damaged "..the mature-age pilot was treated for minor injuries and taken to hospital for observation"

ROBBO HELICOPTER CRASH LANDS AT ARCHERFIELD AIRPORT

A R22 Robinson helicopter is reported in media as having "fallen on it's side" at Archerfield airport in S-E QLD

Media report that it's "..not yet known whether the helicopter crashed while taking off or landing"

ARCHERFIELD PILOTS DELIVER SUPPLIES TO DROUGHT 'N FLOODED COMMUNITIES

Archerfield based private and training pilots have organised themselves - under the group name Carefreight not to be confused with Careflight - to fly much needed 'fresh' supplies to various communities recently affected by cyclonic rainfall

Commercial training pilot Thales Calil "..flew out of Archerfield Airport on Tuesday headed to Biloela with his single-engine plane loaded up with baked goods"
"They usually call you in to have a cuppa, offer you cake and have a nice chat"

R-44 HELICOPTERS GROUNDED IN OZ AFTER BLADE FAILURE IN KIWI LAND

CASA has grounded all 4-seat Robinson R-44s if they are fitted with C016-7 main rotor blades after a catastrophic in flight failure of a similar rotary-wing machine's blades in New Zealand 3-days ago

 "..The risk is the blade literally could come apart - there are up to 400 of these helicopters registered in Australia making it the second most common helicopter type in the country"
