A pilot had died after the Pitts bi-plane he was flying failed to recover from an aerobatics manoeuvre and crashed at Sawyers Gully in the lower Hunter Valley region of NSW

 "...flying straight up into the air before it started to drop tail-first towards the ground
 ..then it started tumbling out of control circling around like a spiral towards the ground"

An 85-year-old pilot has died after the ultralight he was flying failed to remain airborne after take-off and crashed back onto the runway at Lethbridge in Victoria

"We're not sure whether it's a mechanical failure in relation to the capacity of the aircraft ...or a health issue" ..a doctor and a paramedic were unable to revive the pilot
