HIGH-TIME HELICOPTER PILOT KILLED IN CICARE ROTARY-WING CRASH IN WEST OZ

A 62-year-old pilot of a Cicare CH7Bt was killed after the kit-built helicopter he was flying crashed in unknown circumstances when on a flight from Indee Station to Roy Hill Station in Nullagine West OZ

"The veteran pilot of 40 years with 30,000 flying hours ..was found deceased in the wreck of his single-seat home-built 11km north of Roy Hill Station ...had completed the first test flights only a month earlier"

CHEROKEE SIX TAKES TO THE DRINK AFTER PILOT'S LOSS OF CONTROL

Media reports are praising the pilot of a Cherokee Six for ensuring that all his 5-passengers on board the PA-32 6-seater were safe after he apparently lost control of the low-wing during the landing sequence at Lakeside Airstrip around 40 kilometres south of Proserpine in central QLD

"..he experienced a down draft just prior to reaching the strip and it was quite obvious when he landed he had lost control of the plane and it went through quite a bit of fencing hit an embankment and ended up in the lake ...diving in and out of the plane making sure his passengers were out"

PILOT OF HOME-BUILT ULTRALIGHT INJURED IN TAKE-OFF CRASH AT SERPENTINE

A "mature-age" pilot of a Hummel Bird ultralight sustained injuries after the home-built aircraft he was flying suffered a mechanical problem on take-off from the Sporting Aircraft Builders Club's airstrip at Serpentine located around 60 kilometres south of Perth in west OZ

The single-seater was spotted by another airborne aircraft to have crashed at the end of the runway
 "...was heard spluttering (after take-off) and crashed into bushland at the end of the runway" ...the pilot "had a gash to the head and was airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital"
