The pilot of a weight-shift controlled microlight has died in hospital after the trike he was flying crashed in unknown circumstances departing Tyagarah airstrip located 10km north-west of Byron Bay

The male pilot believed to be in his 50's "..was reported to be conscious and breathing but suffering suspected fractures"

He later died in hospital
