The pilot - reported to be in his 50's - has received serious injuries after the weight-shift controlled trike he was flying impacted the ocean at the mouth of the Noosa river ..he was taken to hospital with head, chest and abdominal injuries

"..he was spiralling vertically straight down. I thought that's not right. He leveled out but then I realised he was upside down. He tried to do a dive to bring him back to vertical and he's gone straight into the water"
