PILOT UNINJURED IN HOME-BUILT FORCED LANDING NEAR KATHERINE

The pilot of a Vans RV-8 home-built was uninjured after carrying out a successful emergency landing into lightly timbered country near the Tindal airbase about 12-miles east of Katherine in the NT after an apparent engine failure

The 'bush' pilot was rescued within 10-mins of his May-Day call by the Tindal RAAF airbase personnel
"...impacted on some trees on the way in before coming to a stop with the tail section resting bent up against a tree"

PILOT UNINJURED IN HOME-BUILT PRANG AT PORT LINCOLN IN SOUTH OZ

The pilot of a Bushby Mustang was uninjured after apparently loosing control of his home-built aircraft during the landing sequence at Port Lincoln airport

The pilot has escaped serious injury after crash landing his single-seat plane at Port Lincoln"...assessed by paramedics and is not believed to have any serious injuries"

MATURE AGE PILOT INJURED IN HOME-BUILT PRANG NEAR COFFS HARBOUR

The 76-year-old pilot of a Thorp T-18 was injured after loosing control of his home-built aircraft during the landing sequence into a private airstrip north of Coffs Harbour in NSW

"After three attempts the aircraft’s nose hit the ground and the plane left the airstrip and flipped on to its roof"
The injured pilot was taken to the Coffs Harbour Health Campus

CATALINA RESTORATION GROUP DESPERATE FOR PERMIT-TO-FLY FUNDS

During the war years the Catalina was used in the longest non-stop regular passenger flight ever attempted - Those who completed the trip became members of the "Secret Order of the Double Sunrise"

The group need $85,000 to get the aircraft registered and a permit to fly - "The aim is to get an unlimited Warbird operating certificate that would allow the Catalina to take passengers on adventure flights"
