A 78-year-old pilot of an ultralight registered Brumby has escaped uninjured after the aircraft he was flying failed to get airborne during take-off from a private airstrip and crashed bursting into flames in the process

The pilot extracted himself from the wreckage and did not need medical treatment

"Police said the plane, a single engine Brumby, was completely destroyed"
