STUDENT PILOT SURVIVES EMERGENCY LANDING NEAR WARNERVALE IN NSW

A 43-year-old pilot of a 1968 Piper Cherokee 180 has escaped uninjured after the PA-28 aircraft he was flying solo had the engine fail during circuit training exercises at Warnervale airport

"The pilot was in the middle of take-off and landing training when a power failure in his plane at 500 feet forced an emergency landing ...he kicked out a window as his plane came to rest minus a wing"
