The commercial pilot and passenger were uninjured after the DH-82A Tiger Moth they were in developed an apparent engine problem which necessitated a forced landing onto a rocky bay in the Whitsundays

"...the craft came down on a mud flat hitting the sand and nearby rocks at Funnel Bay ...the rocks damaged the engine and the undercarriage was totalled"
