The wreckage of the Cessna 172 flown by Qantas pilot Paul Whyte has been located in the sea off Byron Bay after police requested that the Navy assist in the search as their equipment was inadequate

Quoting from the Media:
"..the Navy vessel located three large pieces of wreckage in approximately 73 metres of water ..the 46-year-old man’s body was not located"
