 MAREEBA PILOT SURVIVES PIPER AZTEC TWIN-ENGINE FAILURE IN FNQ 

The 50-year-old pilot of a 1976 Piper Aztec sustained relatively minor injuries after the twin-engine aircraft he was flying apparently had one or both engines fail and was forced to carry out an emergency landing into a cane paddock about 15km west of Mareeba

The pilot - the only person on board - was taken to Mareeba Hospital with minor cuts and scratches
"...the pilot had previously undergone a full hip replacement and the hip has become dislodged as he was pulled from the aircraft"
