94-year-old Bob Hoover - referred to in many aviation circles as one of the greatest pilots ever to have lived - has passed away in a hospital near his home in Rancho Palos Verdes in California

'The Greatest Stick And Rudder Man Who Ever Lived'
During the mid 90's Bob was the star attraction at an Archerfield air-show with his famous "Aero Commander Routine"

'BIRD-IN-BIPLANE' STRIPPED OF AWARD AFTER NON-SOLO RECREATION FLIGHTS

The self-styled "Bird in a Biplane" Tracey Curtis-Taylor was unceremoniously stripped of the Bill Woodhams Trophy the Light Aircraft Association had awarded her in 2015 for flying solo from Cape Town to the UK

Members of the LAA voted to rescind the trophy at its Annual General Meeting at Sywell Aerodrome in Northamptonshire "at an angry meeting at which LAA members claimed she had mislead the public over her exploits"
