GRUMMAN MALLARD LOST - 2 KILLED IN CRASH INTO SWAN RIVER IN WEST OZ

The pilot of a Grumman G-73 Mallard along with his female passenger died after the rare amphibian aircraft they were in impacted the Swan River due to what appears to be 'stall-in-turn' followed by a loss-of-control

"On-lookers said the plane was following another aircraft south along the river before it banked, stalled and nosedived into the river, where it broke into two pieces" ...Australia Day celebrations were about to commence

JUNIOR AGRICULTURAL PILOT SURVIVES FORCED LANDING AT MAREEBA

A 25-year-old professional pilot has escaped serious injury after the Air Tractor AT-401B he was flying impacted terrain near Mareeba on the Atherton Tableland after an engine failure

"...to have only sustained a minor finger injury (and) declined to be taken to hospital"

There was significant damage to the aircraft
