All persons on board a Beechcraft B200 King Air escaped uninjured after the port main undercarriage collapsed on landing at Essendon airport in Victoria - there was substantial damage inflicted to the turbine-powered twin

"...the pilot had alerted the control tower that his left wheel has not locked down and could collapse on landing - the left wheel immediately collapsed upon touching the runway"

LIFE OF MATURE AGE GLIDER PILOT LOST IN EMERGENCY LANDING AT BENALLA

A 75-year-old experienced pilot and long-standing member of the Gliding Club of Victoria has lost his life after the Rolladen-Schneider LS8 glider he was flying impacted terrain alongside Murray Road at Benalla

It appears that "..the pilot had been attempting an emergency landing ..a passing motorist saw the glider low in the sky and coming in at a steep angle just before it struck the ground"
