MATURE AGE PILOT ABORTS TAKE-OFF INVERTS ULTRALIGHT NORTH OF MUDGEE

The pilot of Jabiru aircraft aborted the take-off at Coolah airport north of Mudgee due to crosswinds - the ultralight then left the runway hit a fence and flipped onto its roof

 Quote from Media:
"The 74-year-old male pilot and his female passenger extricated themselves from the aircraft and were not injured"

A flying instructor was seriously injured and her student critically injured after the single-engine Diamond DA40 NG they were in apparently had the engine fail shortly after take-off form Port Macquarie airport in NSW - the aircraft appeared to be on night training exercise

"A male passenger and a female pilot were pulled from the wreckage around midnight Friday ...with the man airlifted to Newcastle's John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition"
