An historic Boeing B-17 of the type used in WW2 has been destroyed and 7 of the 13 persons on board lost their lives after the 4-engine piston-powered bomber veered off the runway after landing at Bradley airport in the USA 'The aircraft apparently had an engine fail on or after take-off that necessitated a return to land followed by control-loss after touchdown'
