This image was taken postwar - 1960's perhaps - outside Sid Marshall's hangar at Bankstown

Shows an additional full wing strut attached to the forward undercarriage strut mount

One can conclude that the only reason for this strut is because the wing folded back (failed) due to insufficient strength designed into the forward wing-attach point and that the jury-strut addition during the 1930's did not fix the problem of the wings falling off in turbulence
